Ikea or bust

Ikea or bust was our motto! We got there at 9:15am and they didn't open until 10am. But...We had front row parking! C1 to be exact! We sat in the car and I made fun of Amy for talking on the phone, looked at my catalog ONE MORE TIME and then went in at 9:30 to the food area and ate a cinnamon roll. Then stood around waiting for them to let us on the showroom floor. It was so cool. People probably thought we were nuts with all the pictures we (I) was taking. We did one of both us in front of some mirrors, Amy modeling end table, looking at winebottle, looking through a wine rack...See a pattern. Whine or wine? Not sure how to spell it! LOL
Oh and one of Amy talking on the phone while sitting on a round bed! Inside joke happening here in case you haven't figured it out yet. She calls home 25 times over the weekend to my one. Or was it 26? I lost count. LOL

So here's just one photo to get you started.

Torn

It's a small tear and I am off to the orthopedic surgeon. All I hear are the words small which means it will heal on its own! RIGHT! So until then, I am going to assume it will just continue to improve with each passing day. But that's the scoop from my MRI.
I was able to work today but its not comfortable at all. Glad I had a break so I could come home and ice it for a while.

Ikea pictures coming someday!

Ikea visited

Ok...I did it! My first visit ever. It was pretty cool. I was so good though. I only spent $55. Got a set of sheets($29), a rug ($8), kitchen utensils($2), melting beads for the kids($6), and glass containers($6). Gosh...did I only spend that much on all that?! Took a few pictures but let me just say, we were getting some looks!
Not a colorful as I thought it would be though. I really wanted to get a pair of curtains but I will have to wait until Josh can go with me to see what he likes too.

I saw a totally cool desk that I would love to have too. But...Someday not now.
So I didn't take many pictures. But will post what I did later.

Ikea here I come

So I am up, need to get ready for my first visit ever to IKEA! I am so excited. Spent the first hour last night down in the lobby area for the FREE reception. Free snacks and drinks. yes, FREE! So we sat down there for an hour and got a few to go! Amy is such a bad influence on me. The last drinks I had were in Cancun 9mos ago with HER! See a pattern here?

So I need to get off this computer and get showered and ready for my big day! WAHOOOOOO...

Meredith Cardall-Pear-fectly passionate

So my girlfriend, Meredith Cardall, is now starting to design. Who knew?! But, this is one her first full kits. It's called Pear-fectly Passionate. It will be available at FaithSisters.com in a couple of days. The alphabet is by Kristin Aagard though. Ummm...oops....wasn't suppose to show that until Monday. So you get a sneak peek, I guess. Sorry Kristin!

So here's the deal, I am not allowed to join anymore CT teams so I am just hanging out and playing with her stuff when I get the time. But I will still pimp her out her on my blog. She is one amazing scrapbooker and now she's designing. Good for her. Not my cup of tea at all so don't even ask me Shell. But I may start creating QuickPages/mini albums for one of my designers in the future. Working out the details right now. Didn't think I would ever do that but if they believe in me than I should believe in myself, right?!

It's picture day at school today. And my little Will has no teeth on the bottom! I wish it was the top teeth. Maybe for spring pictures. I love nothing more than seeing kids with missing pairs of teeth! Oh....another layout idea for the pear kit! LOL

MRI done

Just a waiting game now for the results. Mobility is improving each day but still has the "bubble wrap issue". Snaps, crackles...gross. And hurts when that occurs.

I just got a kit from Kristin to work on...oh my word...I can't tell you what it is yet but CUTE doesn't begin to describe it. Oh I wish I could tell you...Ahh...why is Tuesday so far away? Watch for it! And if your weather is good this weekend you need to go to the _____ _____Oh pooh...can't say that either. So you know it has to have something to do with a current happening. What's the date? oh yeah...Sept 25. What time is it?? Oh look its lunch time. What should I have for a light lunch? McDonalds? But I really don't want fries?

ok...I better quit or else she will have me booted off the team!

Back to Photoshop to make yet another layout that I can't share.

Slight improvement

I have had only a slight improvement in the shoulder over the last 24 hours. Still crackles like someone is walking on bubble wrap when I do move it.
Stayed home most of the day and just worked on stuff at home. Counting the days until my girls weekend getaway! only 3 more!!! I can not wait. I am sooo looking forward to seeing my BFF again. Cancun was long time ago and I need a friendship fix! No matter how long of times goes by without seeing her, we just pick up where we left off and laugh until we cry. Such an awesome friend I have...I adore her! Ikea here we come!!!

A sign?

Well, I have a feeling I have injured my supraspinatus tendon according to my doctor. I have to go for an MRI on Thursday to confirm his diagnosis. I was putting cat litter, of all things, into the shopping cart yesterday and I hurt my left shoulder. I went into work today and couldn't even hold my mirror to retract the cheek. So I had to leave and went straight to the doctors office. And then on top of all that, I have an ear and sinus infection too.

So do you think this is a sign that I need to slow down a little bit? I can still scrap though so that's a blessing! heehee I'm rotten.

School for dummies?

Ok...I have always took my education very seriously. I graduated in the top ten of my class from HS, graduated Magna Cum Laude from college...but 4th grade is KILLING ME! Seriously. Why do they have to screw with math. There is some funky stuff happening in the math world it seems. I can't even figure out what they are asking me on my son's homework tonight. UGH...I feel like a total idiot. I had to google some stuff to see if I was close. I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader folks. I am not sure I could pass 4th grade either! LOL

So you can all enjoy a good laugh at my expense. I sure did.

I wish her the best of luck and know she will be putting a smile on the face of those who visit the playground. I am so lucky to be swinging right along side of her! Come play with us on the monkey bars or get dizzy with us on the merry-go-round. Whatever you do, just come play along! Oh heck...just save 30% while you are there too, why don'tcha?!

Float

We decided to have a float in our parade. We had each child represent a function we do during the year. We were going to have the kids walk and have the props on the float but due to the weather we decided not to put too much on the float and just let the kids ride and throw candy. Zander in the right corner of the photo. He was the Box Top Promo guy!
William on the right corner. William was a Christmas Gift for Gingerbread Shoppe that we do for Christmas. He doesn't have his box on in the photo. I wrapped in all in Contact paper so the wrapping paper would not get ruined in the rain.
Here are the officers! What a sorry bunch! LOL I have NEVER worn a baseball hat in my life until this day and I was walking in front of my whole town! LOL But I had to have something to keep my hair down and keep the rain off my glasses! But it did stop raining seconds before we took off! YEAH!! I was able to ditch the blue poncho! So we have our Tres., Sec,. Pres, VP, and PR in that order. I adore these women so much. Their love of the our children and pride in our school is so strong. We are truly blessed to have such a great group of women representing our parent group this year. I am so lucky to have the support of these women and so many of the teachers behind me. Looking forward to a wonderful year.

Rain, Rain, and more Rain

We had our 5K run/walk fundraiser today. Both of my boys and Nana (josh's mom) walked in it. And well, IT RAINED! ok, lied, it POURED. You can see Zander & Will in the blue and yellow ponchos in the middle of the photo.William walked over 2 miles of the 3.2 and was just frozen and drenched. My girlfriend went out to find them and bring them back. But Zander refused the ride and wanted to finish. God love him! I was so stinking proud of him that I cried while telling my MIL 'THANK YOU' for walking with them. I know they slowed her down greatly! I can't begin to explain the pride of felt knowing my son wanted to finish no matter how rotten the weather was or how tired he was. He did it! And William walked farther than I EVER thought he would. So proud of him too! Here's Nana & Zander finishing up the Walk. You can see the rain and how much of it was falling. The other racers/walkers stayed right there and cheered them on as they crossed the line. (yes the came in last but they had a 6 yo and 9 yo walking) It was so neat!

New Beginnings-Kristin Aagard

Kristin has a new freebie at PlainDigitalWrapper right now! Plus I used a few other items from her Swim Fishy kit. I swear I just love this blue. And Kassidy's sweater looks fab with it! She was such a fun girl to shoot.

MIA?

So where have I been you might be thinking? BUSY! I have taken on a few new roles in life lately and I am finding my groove with it. I have been creating layouts but I can't share them just yet. New releases, contests, and the like are not allowing me to share my creations. But I will have a bunch of layouts to share with you in few more days. Or early next week.
Here's a few I can share:Credits: Kristin Aagard: Here newest FREEBIE! And a few elements from other kits of hers. She is adding a new store, or perhaps maybe, just maybe....TWO NEW STORES! I will NOT spill the beans just yet!

Sarah Meyers of GP

Credits: Family Ties by Sarah Meyer of GottaPixel.net. The charms are what pulled me into this kit. They are super cute and there is a TON of them in the kit. PLUS...She says in her TOU if you order this kit and need a specific charm she will make one for you. Cool, huh?!
Credits: A few of my Favorite Things by Sarah Meyer of Gottapixel.net
This is such a great kit. I love the colors in it. As you all know by now, I am a bright and bold kinda gal but this as just enough blue in it to make it pop and feels bold enough for me! Sarah was nice enough to let me play a little bit with her great kits. She was the featured artist of the week for the CT at GottaPixel.net but I just had to get my hands on this latest kit too. She has since asked me to join her CT directly but I am just sooo busy, I am afraid I won't have the time. But I would in a heart beat if I weren't so stretched already. Maybe she will let me GUEST on occasion?! Hint hint!

Oh so busy day...

Well, I spent my whole day running today. Started off at 7:30am and didn't really settle in until almost 8pm. Whew...I'm pooped. I got my first layout down for the Artisan Notebook Requirements. Oh what's that all about you are probably thinking, right.

Well, I was approached by GottaPixel.net to create layouts using their products for possible publications in an online magazine called Artisan Notebook.
Each month there will be different topics/requests for a style or theme. I am to use a GP designers stuff to create the layout per the guidelines set up by AN. So I did my first one, but I can't post it any place. Sorry. Once I know that I won't picked for the publication, I will post! wink wink...how's that for confidence!? The topic this time was a toughy for me. I am not going to tell you what it was but man, just know that I have only ever done ONE layout like this before, really. So I am not holding my breath on this one, ladies. But there will be other chances, right!

I got my fundraisers for fall set up today. Got our plans for the Fall Harvest Festival laid out. Got our Holiday Fundraiser set up too. Ahh...productive day. Feels so good to be on top of stuff. I have a float to build Sunday, then our 5K run/walk fundraiser is next weekend. Plus Z-Man's 10th B-day is the 15th. WHEW...what am I doing sitting at this computer? I need to go to bed and sleep of my day. I ROCK if I do say so myself!! I was a major go getter today! Tomorrow is a day of rest!

School Starts in the morning

Seriously...will I ever get over the anxiety of my kids going back to school? I have been down in the dumps all day worrying about it. I think I have worse separation anxieties than they do! I am trying not to let it show but I had to go upstairs today and cry to get it out of my system. I just hate the thought of them not being around anymore. But they are both ready. Off to the store for last minute stuff. I want to be fully ready in the morning. We are starting at 7:45 this year instead of 8:05. So morning will come early for them.
